BR5-49 is one of those ‘alt’ country bands that is just real country (as opposed to all the ‘alt’ country bands that are something else). Anyway, for whatever reason, they did a vinyl EP with analog enthusiast, Steve Albini. Here’s a song from that about a punk rock chick who goes country.
It doesn’t get much more country than Ray Price. Saw him play a couple years ago and he is still a great performer.
